Google enters broadcast advertising market

December 8th, 2006

Google started the first tests for their upcoming broadcast advertising service. The service should work similar to their Adsense service - they want to automate the sales of advertising spots and require a commission from the radio stations. According to Google, the service should start with 700 radio stations in more than 200 cities in the USA.
Medium-term Google wants to expand the clientele to more than 5000 stations. Google did not give any information, on the starting date.
Google bought the advertising company “dMarc Broadcasting” for $102 million earlier this year. That should help them, to get their feet on the ground, in this sector.
