Yahoo! “Panama” available to new advertisers

The new Yahoo! Sponsored Search platform called “Panama” is now available to all U.S. new sign ups. Existing customers either request an early upgrade or wait till early next year, for the automated system upgrade.

IBM and Yahoo! to release Enterprise Search

IBM and Yahoo! will release a new add-on for IBM’s OmniFind Enterprise Edition, this wednesday. The software named “IBM Omnifind Yahoo Edition” will add Yahoo! data to the search results of OmniFind. The free edition can search a maximum of 500,000 documents, and 200 file types including PDF, Word and Excel. Google also offers different comercial Enterprise Solutions starting from $1,995 for 50,000 searchable documents.

Google Toolbar 3 Beta out for Firefox

Google announced the release of a new version of their Google Toolbar for Firefox. The third version contains all the features from the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, such as storing your bookmarks on a Google server or sending SMS. But it also has an exclusive feature only for Firefox users - ”Docs & Spreadsheets” allows you to open a lot of different document types in your Firefox Browser, instead of downloading and then viewing them with a separate application.

Yahoo! Search Index Update is going on

According to Tim Mayer, from Yahoo! Search, a Search Index Update is going on right now:

“We are in the process of rolling out some changes to our search results. As usual, you may be seeing some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages that are included in the index throughout this process. This update began on Sunday night and should be complete by tomorrow morning.”

I have not seen any changes yet, but lets see what happens till tomorrow!
