There is no clarification if you can turn off the SMS messaging and just use email on your computer, to avoid interruptions and g-Spam on your phone. They also provide inadequate Log-in help, to try to help you recall or confirm a dormant Lg-In ID, or to link other Google Accounts/ID's with the new gMail. Someone simply wanting the email without Wireless sign-up (or who may have signed in to a different area of Google vefore) is left stranded, wondering if you should create yet ANOTHER Account just to try the service.
